Lovely stay at La Blatiere!

Our second stay at La Blatiere and again it was the perfect getaway. We had an amazing stay which was chilled out from the start. We were made very welcome by the lovely Lesley and Paul who ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The facilities at La Blatiere were amazing – we particularly enjoyed taking a dip in the pool! There is lots to do within the local area. We really enjoyed our strolls into the local village L’Absie where we enjoyed eating out at the restaurants and wandering around the village. Thank you again Lesley and Paul for our wonderful stay – we will be back!

Thank you so much Claire. We are so pleased you had a great time. Looking forward to welcoming you back again soon x

Lovely week and great hosts

Spent a lovely week at La Blatiere as our first port of call to check out areas of France to potentially live in. Love Charante, Deux Sevres and La Blatiere. Plus Lesley, Paul and Oscar were the perfect hosts with a lot of useful advice . Hopefully we’ll be back

Thanks Kevin and Sue. It was lovely to meet you, good luck in your travels and we look forward to hearing how you get on. Lesley and Paul x

The perfect relaxing holiday

This was our second year at the La Blatiere Stables, and our holiday was perfect in every respect. La Blatiere is set in a lovely rural location, but very well located for many different types of days out, although this year we stayed mainly by the pool! Lesley and Paul are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. They really helped to make our holiday extra-special and we've already re-booked for next summer.

We spent a wonderful week at the Farmhouse with our son and his friends . The house is impeccable: clean, spacious, beautifully decorated. The beds are so comfortable. The boys enjoyed very much the heated pool, the sauna (on rainy day), the bikes and the babyfoot. Paintball and Escape game are not far away. Lesley and Paul were so kind and were available for any request. Thanks again for a perfect vacation week.

I can't think of anywhere better to relax or explore...

This is the first Gite style holiday for me in rural France and I wasn't sure what to expect. But from the moment we arrived at La Blatiere everything was just perfect. The Farmhouse was well equipped both inside and out. The outdoor eating area where we spent much of our time was just stunning, lit with fairy lights on an evening, wysteria covered and cool in the day. The best place to enjoy a cup of tea and listen to birdsong in the morning. The surrounding countryside was fanatastic for cycling or walking and a good place to meet the locals ... donkeys, horses, cows, sheep and Gordon the jack russell! The wee local town had everything you could possible need - a supermarket, boulangerie, bars and restaurants. And you're a stones throw from many stunning historic towns too. We went to Vouvant, a 20 minute drive away. A picture postcard French town. To be fair, the pictures don't do La Blatiere justice. We loved every minute. A massive hit for all three of us. La Blatiere is definitely somewhere I will return to.

We will all be back!

A total family of 10 sharing both properties (The farmhouse and The Stables). Paul and Lesley have been perfect hosts and extremely helpful. Paul had a great deal of patience explaining the workings of the plantroom and the pool to our very curious son Oscar! The children loved feeding the cows and shaking the apple tree. It was a home from home in a lovely quiet setting. We will be back at some point and the grand parents will be popping in to stay on there next trip to France early next year. Good luck to you both with your new venture. Diolch (thank you both)

Perfect

Two friends and I stayed at La Blatiere for a long weekend. We stayed in the Farmhouse - the accomodation was lovely and we enjoyed the wonderful porch area, for breakfast and dinner dining and sitting relaxing and watching the fairy solar lights come on around the property as It got dark - magical. Paul and Lesley couldn't have been more helful and welcoming - they are great hosts. The coutyard layout lets you enjoy the sun and pool which is very well maintained, but also allows for privacy. Perfect location for a relaxing family holiday or like us a long weekend - highly recommend it!
